Leaded Light Cement
Leaded light cement is ideal for weatherproofing stained glass windows. This high-quality, ready-to-use black cement is easy to apply, allowing you to brush it between the lead and glass to create a watertight seal and a sturdy panel. To waterproof the stained glass and prevent movement, apply the cement on both sides of the panel. It is important to use whiting to help it dry properly. We recommend allowing the panels to set for at least a week before installation. Be careful not to let the cement dry on the lead, as it will be difficult to remove.
Store the cement in a cool place. The shelf life of leaded light cement is approximately 3-4 months.
To apply the cement, use a cheap dishwashing brush. After applying, use whiting to absorb any excess oil and a pointed dowel or stick to clean up. For a polished finish, use a soft polishing brush and some black grate polish to achieve a shiny appearance on your stained glass panel!
